Iconic UK dance-rockers EMF are set to electrify Australian audiences with a series of headline shows in July and August 2025. These dates are their first in Australia since 1991, making it 34 years between drinks for the Epsom Mad Funkers!
Best known for their chart-topping smash “Unbelievable,” from their debut album, “Schubert Dip“, EMF promises a dynamic blend of classic tracks and fresh material, ensuring a nostalgic yet totally unforgettable experience for fans old and new.
While “Unbelievable” is the bedrock of EMF’s career, going Gold in Australia, peaking at #8 on the Aria Singles Charts, coming in at #35 for 91’s Year-End Aria chart and being included in the 1000 Greatest Songs of All Time by Music Max, they’ve also had a string of hit singles including “I Believe,” “Children”, “Lies,” live set favourites, “They’re Here” and “It’s You.” and a killer cover of The Monkees’ “I’m a Believer,” featuring Vic Reeves.
A mainstay on the live circuit throughout the 90’s EMF released two further albums, ’92’s “Stigma” and ’95’s “Cha Cha Cha”, before releasing “The Best of EMF” in 2001. Tragedy struck in 2002 with the sudden passing of bassist Zac Foley which shocked the band into silence until they were able to regroup in 2007 and have been steadily doing festivals and live shows in the years since.
In 2022, EMF released their fourth album, “Go Go Sapiens”, followed by their fifth, “The Beauty and the Chaos”, in 2024.
This tour marks EMF’s first Australian performances in over three decades, making it a historic return that fans have eagerly awaited.
With the video for “Unbelievable” surpassing 10 million views and with almost 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify – Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane all ranking in the bands Top 5! – EMF continue to part of the soundtrack of people’s lives all over the world.
