HANGMAN’S CHAIR New Album SADDICTION Out Now

Release New Visualizer For 'Healed?

French doom metal pioneers HANGMAN´S CHAIR have released their brand-new album Saddiction via Nuclear Blast. Together with the album the band released their new visualizer for ‘Healed?‘ a song where every heavy riff and slow beat reveals the torments of the mind. The harrowing lyrics evoke depression, anxiety and inner struggles, capturing pain and isolation in an oppressive, cathartic atmosphere.

HANGMAN’S CHAIR comments about ‘Healed?‘: “The last song of an album is always a special one. “Healed?” is no stranger to that process, it was thought and written to be the final act of Saddiction since the beginning and it sums up all the themes of the album. It’s a classic Hangman’s Chair tune, that opens a new chapter. The question mark at the end leaves you the choice, are you healed or just denying?”

About Saddiction: “Feeling depressed on St Valentine’s day? February 14th is the perfect day to release our new album, when the ultra-modern solitude of big cities starts to kick in. Saddiction or 9 ways to say I love you. Now, please don’t blame us for your saddiction, It has always been here.”

HANGMAN’S CHAIR, formed in 2005 in Paris, are one of the most unique sounding Doom Rock bands currently active. Through the years, they have found and fine-tuned their own sonic brand, somewhere at the crossroads between TYPE O NEGATIVE, LIFE OF AGONY and SISTERS OF MERCY, to name a few, mixed with a certain street credibility connected to the group’s roots in hardcore. Each album takes its strength and essence from the band members life experiences, which they portrait with unflinching honesty. Whether it is the loss of band members, drug overdoses or the hardships of living in suburban Paris, all those human emotions resonate within each of their songs as they embrace the darkness and transform it into something beautiful, heavy and melancholic.

HANGMAN’S CHAIR is:
Julien Chanut – Guitar
Cédric Toufouti – Guitar, Vocals
Mehdi Thepegnier – Drums
Clément Hanvic – Bass
