Newcastle Garage Punk Outfit FIST Release Second Single ‘DICKHEAD’

Breaking out of the Newcastle live music scene, FIST is set to follow-up their explosive debut single ‘KA-BOOM (MTHRFCKR)’ which premiered exclusively with HEAVY Magazine. The band’s sophomore effort ‘Dickhead’ is produced by Jackson Wiebe who has worked with artists FIDLAR, DZ Deathrays, Birds of Tokyo and more.

“FIST’s decision to road test their material, fine-tuning it night after night until the songs virtually walked themselves into the studio and hit record[…] their bold move has paid off.” – HEAVY Magazine

Since their first gig in June 2023, FIST has been lucky enough to open Hellnation III, perform for ‘Sydney Streets,’ and knock out wild sets at both Fastlane Festival 2024 and Munk & Petal 2025 in Brisbane.

In 2024 FIST embarked on a self-described ‘Naht A Tour’ tacking 14,000km extra on the odometer across 3 states, playing 25 public shows and a bunch of private parties, as well as supporting Australian rock legends such as The Porkers and Area 7. This allowed for the recording of FIST’s debut live album ‘Live Uncut Broke & Exhausted’ and set the stage for their debut studio single ‘KA-BOOM (MTHRFCKR)’ released in January 2025, which premiered in HEAVY Magazine. The single has received glowing reviews on Triple J Unearthed, as well as significant playlisting at home and abroad from both independent Spotify curators and traditional radio airplay.

We are excited to release our sophomore single ‘Dickhead,’ recorded at legendary The Grove Studios and launching live at The Lass O’Gowrie Newcastle. This playful, rhapsodic track is for fans of Motörhead, The Living End and Dune Rats.
