Unicorn’s forthcoming single Spirals released yesterday (Thursday 6 March 2025). A love song that explores the exhilarating and terrifying journey of falling in love. With a driving bass line, euphoric vocals and a melody to make your heart beat just a little bit faster, Spirals will leave you wanting more.
Jenna Hardie, songwriter explains, “This song is all about falling in love – the fear, the joy, the pull of your heart strings… falling into the unknown. I wanted the sound of the song to convey that intent and intimate the free-fall you might feel in a new relationship, full of unknowns, hopes and dreams”.
Recorded with renowned sound engineer Dave Parkin at Blackbird Sound Studio, Spirals is reminiscent of retro songs such as Joy Division’s Disorder. Having recently recorded two new singles with Parkin, Unicorn will be releasing a follow-up single later in the year. Spirals will be
Unicorn’s 5th single release. Unicorn supported Jebediah’s ‘Gum up the bearings’ tour, a sold out show at The Rechabite as part of WAMFest in November 2023, and finished the year on a high, supporting 90’s electropunk pop band Def FX at Badlands Bar. 2024 saw Unicorn welcome new bass player, Sara McPherson (New Talk, Ursula) with the band playing a slew of regional gigs and festival shows.
Unicorn will celebrate the release of Spirals with shows in Fremantle and Bunbury in the coming weeks.
