Written during a hard period of Angie’s life, the latest track is a testimony to the hardships of mental health and an upbeat reminder to be gentler with yourself. Although born from a difficult chapter, the song itself is an electrifying indie-pop anthem; heartfelt but lighthearted, a song you can cry to on the dancefloor.
Angie reflects on the track, “After the break down of a 5 year long relationship, being forced out of my home, and being jobless, I found my mental health had deteriorated. Coming up to my 24th birthday, I felt unworthy of celebration and noted the destructive behaviours that were contributing to my pessimistic outlook on life.”
The latest offering comes off the back of Angie’s debut release ‘Who Are You After Me’ which garnered praise from Pilerats and Xpress Magazine and received airplay across triple j Unearthed, Double J and local community radio stations.
Angie also picked up a WAM Award for Best Blues and Roots Song for the debut single and was recently a nominee for Happy Mag’s Needle in the Hay competition.
After eight months of non-stop shows and sold-out headliners in WA, as well as supporting the likes of Ella Hooper, Caravana Sun, and Noah Dillon, Angie and the band will be hitting the road again for a run of shows across the country including supporting Melody Pool.
