Beloved Brighton indie band The Kooks are heading back to Australia, playing a stack of dates across the country this Autumn. Presented by XIII Touring and Untitled Group, the band will bring their huge back catalogue of epic singalong hits to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth alongside their Groovin the Moo festival run.
These dates mark The Kooks’ return to our shores after a sold-out run in 2022 celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut album Inside In/Inside Out.
One of the few mid-noughties indie bands not only still standing, but still experiencing career highs, The Kooks are world-renowned for their distinct brand of indie rock. Breaking through with hits from their debut album like “Naive”, “Seaside” and “She Moves in Her Own Way” and hitting the jackpot again with tracks “Bad Habit” and “Sweet Emotion” from 2014’s Listen, The Kooks have continued to release critically acclaimed albums whilst keeping up with a restless tour schedule.
The Kooks have explored a multitude of genres since their debut in 2005, from futuristic synth-pop to stripped back prog rock. With an impressive catalogue of six studio albums, the band solidified their status as indie royalty with 2022’s 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark. As a group who have shared their struggles with adjusting to superstardom, the optimistic album marked a new-found peace, confidence and stillness amongst the band. Amassing 7.7 million monthly Spotify listeners, The Kooks continue to build a fanbase that sprawls far and wide with their trademark sound.
When it comes to festivals – you name it, The Kooks have played it. Aside from their busy history of headline touring, The Kooks have played Coachella, Sziget, Summerfest, Lollapalooza and many more. In addition to their Australian metro shows The Kooks will again return to Groovin the Moo stages seeing them perform at six locations across the country.
