Perth-based rockers The Silent Deeds make a long-awaited return with the new single ‘Lady’, released today, Friday May 3. Check out the preview below and head to your favourite streaming service to hear ‘Lady’ in full.
‘Lady’ is the band’s first single in over three years, succeeding ‘Ghosts’ from 2020, featured on their EP, ‘Down With Me.’ It’s the first of three brand-new tracks slated for release in 2024. Additionally, ‘Lady’ marks the debut of lead guitarist Jake Bignell, whose influence shifts The Deeds towards a more classic rock sound. The track was produced and mixed under the watchful eye of Troy Nababan at his Hammerspace Recording studio in Perth.
The Silent Deeds will celebrate the single launch with an event at The Carine Tavern in Perth on Saturday May 4th, supported by up & coming Perth band Jeff’s House. ‘The Deeds’ will play a double set filled with catchy originals, as well as a collection of covers ensuring that they will have everyone on their feet dancing the night away. And the best thing of all? The event is FREE! Info can be found HERE
The Silent Deeds would like to proudly announce that they have begun this exciting new chapter by signing to new management team Raging Bear Artist Management, a Perth-based company supporting local & national artists.
A Raging Bear spokesperson said: “Having previously worked with the ‘The Deeds’ and been a huge fan of their music, it is our absolute pleasure to have them join us and be the first band to sign to the management roster. The new music set for release this year is quite possibly the best I’ve heard from them. Fans of the band should get very excited for 2024 and beyond. We are all looking forward to an exciting partnership and busy 2024.”
Having supported the likes of US rockers Fuel and Melbourne’s Taxiride, 2019 saw The Silent Deeds soar to new heights when they performed as the official musical act in the 2019 WAFL Grand Final at Optus Stadium in Perth. More recently, The band supported Thirsty Merc for their opening two sold-out shows of their ’20 Good Years’ Tour in WA, receiving glowing reviews from both Thirsty Merc and their fans alike.
2020 saw the band release their second EP ‘Down with Me’ which spawned the singles ‘The Race’, ‘Come Alive’ and ‘Ghosts’. The Silent Deeds appeared on Foxtel’s The Scene, which is a weekly show highlighting the Western Australian music scene and hosted by Perth radio presenter Blake Williams from Mix94.5. Shortly after the airing of the episode, the band supported two-time ARIA award winners End of Fashion.
In 2022, the band took a short hiatus. They returned in 2023, writing, recording, and looking to release new music in 2024, with ‘Lady’ the first of three singles set to be unleased this year.
Since their first official live show, The Silent Deeds have blazed a trail throughout the WA pub rock scene. The band played in a string of iconic live music venues across the state including the Ravenswood Hotel, The Stirling Arms, Margaret River’s Settlers Tavern, The Rosemount Hotel, Badlands, Amplifier Bar, The Velvet Lounge, The Oddfellow, The Swan Hotel, The Railway Hotel, The Indi Bar, and many more.
