INTERVIEW: BABYLON A.D. Derek Davis

ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY - INTERVIEW #2 of 3

When you hear something you like it sticks with you, and over the years Babylon A.D.’s first two records have more than stood the test of time for me. They’re records that sum up all that I love about the Bluesy Hard Rock at the tail end of the 80’s.  I’ve been lucky enough to catch up with almost every past and present member of the band over the years and whilst recordings after those first two records have had their share of fireworks this year’s ‘Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day’ is something else entirely. It’s a record that not only recaptures the excitement of those first records it actually adds a patina of experience and takes you to another level entirely. Because of that I just had to get a few perspectives on the album and so reached out to Derek, Ron and new drummer Dylan to get their take on what has to be a strong contender for album of the year.  I always love catching up with Derek and so if you’re also a fan of his solo work there’s some great news on that front too! Enjoy!
