Missy Higgins is one of Australia’s most beloved singer/songwriters. She has struck a deep and enduring chord with her irresistible melodies, ‘arrow through the heart’ lyrics and classic songs like “Scar”, “The Special Two”, “Steer”, “Everyone’s Waiting” and “Futon Couch”. 2024 was a huge year for Missy with the release of her new album The Second Act – “a kind of sequel” to her hugely influential debut The Sound Of White. That raw and introspective classic was about taking on the world as a 20-year-old while The Second Act is about doing that all over again as a 40-year-old, after the stories you told yourself turned out not to be true. Written, produced, and performed largely on her own, it’s a powerful statement which topped the ARIA charts 20 years to the day after Missy’s The Sound Of White reached No. 1. Missy also hit the road across 2024 with The Second Act Tour drawing unanimous rave reviews across 46 dates to 100,000+ Australians, culminating in sold out shows at the biggest venues she’s headlined in nearly 20 years and her induction into the ARIA Hall Of Fame. Since being Unearthed by Triple J while still at high school, Missy has blazed a trail for female singer/songwriters in this country, marching to her own drumbeat and earning 26 ARIA Award nominations plus seven ARIA No. 1’s (so far!).

From their inception, The Waifs traversed Australia playing every small town with a local paper, a local radio station, a pub or hall that would host live music, and someone willing to listen, of which there were many! Constant touring laid a broad foundation, musical chemistry, and an approachable relatability through their lyrics solidified a lifelong, dedicated fan base. The Whitlams’ bittersweet storytelling and rollicking performances have made them one of Australia’s most successful touring and recording acts since the mid-1990s, when they single-handedly brought piano back onto the indie airwaves. Over the course of their storied history, they have released five platinum and gold selling albums in a row, including the beloved “Eternal Nightcap” which captured the hearts of a generation with its famous opener, ARIA Song of the Year “No Aphrodisiac”.
