Perth psychedelic act Mayatrix & The Psychics have been personally requested by The Cult‘s management to open for the band on their Australian tour!
Frontwoman, Moana Mayatrix says of their selection; “To tour Australia playing venues like these with a band as iconic as The Cult is literally a dream come true for us! It’s surreal. We’ve been dedicated to our art and working hard in the underground for awhile now and are just so excited to share our magic to the country and get on those stages and go nuts! It’s a true blessing to be invited to this experience and something we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives.”
The news comes off the bands recent support of Indonesia’s Metal Queens, Voice of Baceprot in Perth last month.
The bands most recent release, Black Moon Medicine combines Moana Mayatrix’s ethereal, sensual textures with The Psychics driving drum, bass and hefty industrial rock riffs. This trip-hop-psych-rock banger is sexy and intoxicating and will leave you thirsty for more of whatever delicious, otherworldly potion this is.
Look out for new music from Mayatrix & The Psychics in early 2025!
Until then, catch the band rocking stages across Australia with The Cult!!

The WAM-award nominated Mayatrix & The Psychics conjure the raw heft of rock, infusing it with a psychedelic elixir that is 2-parts surreal and 3-parts big-time sensuality. On stage, they come-on like a jolt to your cerebral cortex from a fever dream, dazzling crowds with their electrifying and theatrical stagecraft.
This has earned them a devoted fan base across Australia and around the world, resulting in key support slots for the likes of Karnivool, DEF FX, Venom Inc, Ocean Alley, and Abbe May.
