Ladies & Gentlemen…beloved Budgewoi trio SHORT STACK are thrilled to today unveil the support acts for their 15 Years Of Stack Is The New Black tour set to sway across the country this June.
Celebrating their debut 2009 album Stack Is The New Black across Australia in 2025, SHORT STACK have also today announced a venue upgrade for Sydney due to overwhelming demand, shifting to Roundhouse on June 7, with the Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne shows now entirely sold out, and Perth selling fast.
Joining SHORT STACK in Brisbane will be new-wave indie act FRIENDS OF FRIENDS, and alternative rock duo DAYS LIKE THESE. In Sydney, fans can witness genre mutant marvels REDHOOK, as well as lively pop punk trio FOREVER ENDS HERE. Adelaide will feature cathartic metalcore outfit HEARTLINE, also joined by dynamic pop punks DOWN & OUT. Melbourne fans can catch the soaring stylings of BAD/LOVE, along with new wave dream rockers PRETTY BLEAK. And in Perth, SHORT STACK will be supported by the powerhouse rock-meets-R&B flavours of CHEZ, as well as magnetic indie rockers OJAY.
Since first forming in the early 2000s, SHORT STACK have amassed a dizzying array of accolades, including being dubbed Channel V Oz Artist of the Year twice (in 2008 and 2010), scoring the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Fave Aussie Band in 2010, an ARIA #1 for their debut album Stack Is the New Black, with plenty of gold and platinum-selling singles (and iconic hairstyles) along the way.
Released in 2009, Stack Is The New Black was an instant viral sensation, boasting wall-to-wall pop punk charmers, including singles Sway Sway Baby!, Shimmy A Go Go and Princess, going on become certified gold. And in 2023 alongside a massive regional headline run, SHORT STACK released the Stack Is The New Black on vinyl for the first time ever
Following a break-up in 2012, a brief formation and second break-up in 2014 and 2015 respectively, a jubilant SHORT STACK reunion in 2020 ultimately led to the band’s 2022 studio album Maybe There’s No Heaven. Amalgamating the trio’s colourful career with a renewed creative lease on life, SHORT STACK truly soared to sensational heights with their latest material, blending hooky bangers, sharp execution and searing authenticity into an 11 track masterpiece – and all entirely on their own terms.
Since the release of Maybe There’s No Heaven, SHORT STACK have also unleashed two standalone singles, Shotgun Wedding and IDGAF, and closed out 2023 with show-stopping performances at Good Things Festival, alongside Fall Out Boy, Limp Bizkit, Devo, I Prevail and many more.
Come and join SHORT STACK in 2025 taking things back to where it all began, celebrating the 15th anniversary of Stack Is The New Black and proving that after all this time: it’s definitely not just a phase! With Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne shows now sold out, Perth tickets are also selling fast, and Sydney’s venue has been officially upgraded due to overwhelming demand.
