We caught up with Canadian Vocalist & Guitarist Morgan Lander of Kittie just ahead of the bands tour of Australia with Ukrainian metal juggernauts Jinjer which starts this week in Brisbane. This tour has been thirteen years in the waiting for Australian fans as they haven’t played here since 2012’s Soundwave. Kittie took an indefinite hiatus that same year and the world was never sure if we would see them record or play live again, that was until 2022 when a reformed Kittie played the Blue Ridge Rock and When We Were Young Festivals. Something clicked within the band and this led to last year’s album “Fire”.
In this interview we discuss their early success, the hiatus, their 2018 documentary their latest album “Fire” and touring. To say that Kittie are looking forward to their return to Australian is truly down playing their excitement.
