After a stellar year, including playing national support to The Darkness (UK) and Killing Heidi, appearances at Secret Garden Festival, The Blurst of Times, Mountain Sounds Festival, Electric Lady, selling out their ‘Ready or Not’ single launch and the release of their latest single, ‘Prey’ which was dubbed by Rollingstone as “Bubbles with an equal swaying, smiling innocence and poignant, poetic lines”, Sydney pop-punk, outfit RACKETT release their, uncompromising, debut EP ‘READY OR NOT’.
The five track masterpiece, includes previously released ‘Bats’, ‘Ready or Not’ and ‘Prey’, plus two new bangers ‘Your Son’ and ‘Mama Don’t Like Him’. Recorded and produced by Dave Hammer at Def Wolf Studios (Sydney), and mastered by Brain Lucey (USA), the EP is a collection of, what the band describe as, early ‘trash-pop’ songs.“Your son is con, your son is a bad one” echoes lead singer Rebecca’s beautifully strained vocals in fresh, new single ‘Your Son’, encasing the raw energy of a woman scorned. The girls will have you singing along to “D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S” with the pop rock power ballad ‘Mama Don’t like Him’.
The EP packaging, in collaboration with Mi-Wallet, features a unique, handmade sleeve, made entirely of upcycled materials which will be available to purchase online and at live shows.
RACKETT will be hosting a release party in Melbourne on Friday 22nd, September at Yah Yah’s and in Sydney on Saturday 23rd, September at The Chippo Hotel before joining Killing Heidi, on a national tour.
