Sydney rockers Interim release video for ‘Molly’

Across 2017 Sydney rockers Interim have slowly revealed in visual form each and every track from their debut album Escapism, which Heavy Magazine proclaimed as the work of “a band that every Aussie rock fan needs to know about.” Following the album release a couple of weeks back, the next and last major video instalment is released today in the form of the album’s opening track “Molly“, a song described by Beat Magazine as a “perfect start to the record… There’s scuzzy guitars and alternating time signatures, but on the other end of the spectrum – finely crafted blues and rock that is idiosyncratic in a scene filled with all too comparable rock bands.”

The video clip features hundreds of hours-worth of time lapse and slow shutter speed photography from off the beaten track around SE Queensland. Interim’s Jock Houston explains, “The actual video clip has been a collaboration for a few months now with an old friend and photographer friend of ours Jordan Condon – he’s such a lovely guy, and a really solid astronomer and photographer that I used to go on motorbike trips around South East Queensland with. We added Adrian Goleby on editing to the mix, and now I’m pretty proud to say we managed to create a really strong psychedelic visual accompaniment to the song, and something worlds away from our Moshcam Live Studio performance recorded last year.”

“The original and live track goes for about seven minutes” Houston continues, “but at some point during our gig testing of the track at Frankies Pizza we just started to realise we could finish at a certain point, move on to a few other songs and then whenever it felt right to bring the energy down a little bit we’d bring in the second half of it… The second half ended up being Track 8 called Reprise, we love that it slides in at the start of the B-Side on vinyl.”
