Mammal fans lucky enough to hold tickets for tonight’s sold out reunion show in Melbourne are being reminded today to get down early to catch openers, Terracotta Pigeons ,with the release of a brand new single today from the band in celebration of their own return to the stage, after 6 years away from live shows. The new single, ‘ Keep your head down’ , is the first release for Terracotta Pigeons since the 2015 album, ‘Evasion Persuasion’.
Terracotta Pigeons is a one man rock band and constantly evolving portfolio of an emerging Australian producer, experienced live performer, multi-instrumentalist and award winning songwriter. Steven Smith writes, performs, produces and releases all Terracotta Pigeons material under his own independent label, Muscle Mothership Productions.
Debuting in 2008 with the album Ever-Forever-Never, Terracotta Pigeons went on to showcase at festivals in North America before returning for shows in Australia with the likes of Karnivool, Butterfly Effect, The Screaming Jets Powderfinger, and many more.
After a 6 year break from live performances, Terracotta Pigeons return to the live stage in 2017, with Smith leading a 3 piece band from behind the drum kit in signature Pigeons’ style at a sold out Max Watts show in Melbourne, Australia, opening for the long awaited Mammal reunion show. With new single ‘Keep your head down’ due for release on October 27th and another album on the way in early 2018, a fresh new lineup joins Smith on stage for the relaunch of this Hard rock/Alternative powerhouse.
