Seether fans were treated to a stunning performance at the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on November 28, 2017. The crowd scattered into the venue on a Tuesday night to see this Alternative Rock/Metal band perform. This show was in support of their “Poison the Parish” album that was released earlier this year. The bands Shaman’s Harvest and The Dead Deads were main support for Seether.

In 1999, the band first formed in South Africa and have been playing shows all over the US ever since. They gained popularity fast with their number one single “Fine Again”.  In 2012, Seether was nominated for “Best Live Band” of the year (Wikipedia). They have toured with bands such as Three Days Grace, Skillet, 3 Doors Down, and Papa Roach.

The first song on their setlist was “Gasoline” which starts off with an instrumental melody of guitar riffs followed by drums in the background. It is the first track from the album “Disclaimer” and seems to be one of their heaviest songs. In the middle of the song, you can hear screaming which brings chills down your spine. If you are having a bad day this is the song that you should sing along to on the top of your lungs. Another song played during the show was “Save Today”. The song started out slow with just the singer Shaun Morgan on guitar while the lights on stage were dim.  During the 2nd verse, remaining band members join in and finish the rest of the song. Suddenly, flashing lights came on and they looked like large stereo speakers lit up on stage.

Seether’s 7th studio album, “Poison the Parish” was released on May 12, 2017. This three piece band really knows how to entertain the crowd. Everyone cheered throughout the show and sang along to “Let you Down.” This seemed to start off as a much faster song with heavy guitar riffs. The setlist also consisted of “Betray And Degrade” which was featured on this album. The vocal rhythm really stands out in this song.

As the show got closer to the end, the crowd became louder and danced to the last few songs. It was definitely an encore that made you want to get out the air guitar while belting out song lyrics. I was impressed by the mixed range of slow and fast songs while seeing the flashing colored lights on stage. This is definitely a band that I would see again! Seether has plans in December to continue their tour around the US. Their last stop on the tour will be at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 20th.
