Ex KING CANNONS singer/songwriter LUKE YEOWARD releases self produced vinyl single SOAP BOX / GHETTO PERSONA and launches Analog Recording Studio and Record Label HALF WAY RECORDS
Luke Yeoward is an artist and producer based in Melbourne, Australia. His journey began as a street performer at just 10 years old and his musical river flowed through his teens and twenties, carving its way through several different projects, genres and countries.
His formative teenage years were spent in New Zealand cutting his teeth on Punk Rock. In 2007 King Cannons was born, re-locating to the UK in 2008 then moving to Australia in 2009. King Cannons’ positive energy and disregard for musical boundaries lead them to sign major licensing, publishing and management agreements in Australasia. With singles on high rotation across national radio in Australia and New Zealand, King Cannons released their debut S/T EP in 2010 and full length album The Brightest Light in 2012. The band played festivals such as the Big Day Out, Blues Fest, Nz Homegrown, Pyramid Rock, Peats Ridge and toured across Australia, New Zealand and Europe with The Living End, Bedouin Soundclash, Shihad, The Broilers and more.
In 2016 Luke launched his solo career with a successful crowdfunding campaign that enabled him to create his debut album; GHOSTS throughout a month in the USA. Now, after much work behind the scenes, 2018 sees Yeoward start his own Analog Recording Studio and Record Label HALF WAY RECORDS and is celebrating the release of the labels first limited edition vinyl single; SOAP BOX / GHETTO PERSONA.
“After recording my debut album ‘Ghosts’ with J Bonner, I became obsessed with Analog Music Production. After that, I began to work hard learning and building my studio in Melbourne. I wanted Half Way Records to be a label and studio that keeps it old school, humble and simple, so I am so proud to say that this first record was made 100% analog. As in, It has not touched a computer in the process. We tracked this fucking thing to tape in the back room of my house, it was mixed to tape there too and I was lucky enough to be able to cut the record from tape and personally press this run of 45’s. It’s been ‘hands on’ to say the least!”
