Tired Lion, The Bennies & a stack more added to Pool House Party

Pool House Party

Already featuring 10 of the best bands in the country, The Smith Street Band are proud to announce another nine acts, to complete the lineup for the first ever Pool House Party. Topping off today’s announcement are Tired Lion and The Bennies.

Tired Lion had a massive 2017, releasing their album Dumb Days, selling out shows all around the place and playing festivals all over the country. The new album from The Bennies, Natural Born Chillers, is out this week, they are currently touring new single ‘Dreamkillers’ around the country before they head off to Europe for a massive 30 date tour.

Also on the list, Ecca Vandal. Having gone from strength to strength with the release of her self titled album, playing a massive UK tour alongside Frank Carter and finishing 2017 with Falls Festival.

Previous USA tour supports for The Smith Street Band, Astronautalis and Signals Midwest will make the trip to Australia to join Pool House Party. This will be the third Australian tour for Astronautalis, previously playing massive shows out here supporting Tegan and Sara. Signals Midwest frontman Maxwell Stern is no stranger to Australia, having previously toured supporting Wil Wagner on a solo tour. The connection between the two bands documented in ‘More Like Signals Midbest’, a track penned by Wagner about the Smithies first meeting with Signals Midwest.

Pagan, The Cutaways, Under The Cut and Scabz will round out this massive lineup, showcasing some of the best up and coming talent the country has to offer.

The inaugural Pool House Party and The Smith Street Band’s biggest headline show to date will see 19 bands take over two stages at Coburg Velodrome. These new additions will join The Smith Street Band along with Tropical Fuck Storm, Ceres, Bec Sandridge, WAAX, Baker Boy, Jess Locke, Press Club and Antonia and The Lazy Susans on Saturday March 17th at Coburg Velodrome.

It’s already been a big week for The Smith Street Band with two songs featuring in triple j’s Hottest 100. For the second year in a row taking out #21 with ‘Birthdays’ (‘Death to The Lads’ was #21 in 2017) and ‘Passiona’ at #49. ‘Shine’ just missed out at #110. The band also announced a massive 27 date National tour, taking in every state and territory.
