A roundup of the latest tour news from hard rock big names including Bruce Dickinson, Alice In Chains, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson will be holding a special screening and Q&A session for his film “Scream For Me Sarajevo” ahead of it’s theatrical release in London on April 11, followed by the theatrical release in the UK on April 17.
Scream For Me Sarajevo is the amazing and astonishing story of the most unlikely of rock concerts, performed by Bruce Dickinson and his band Skunkworks in 1994, in the midst of the “Siege of Sarajevo”. This is a film about extraordinary people defying the horrors of war, and the musicians who risked their lives to play a show for them.
Featuring footage from the historic gig, the film also meets those that made it to the show and made the show happen; determined to keep living their lives despite the atrocities going on around them. Interviews with the band, crew and security bring home the reality of the situation that was not only dangerous, it was barbaric.
“We weren’t protected, there was no plan and the bullets were real, but f*** it, we went anyway” said Bruce in his recent best-selling autobiography What Does This Button Do?, “The gig was immense, intense and probably the biggest show in the world at that moment for the audience and for us. That the world didn’t really know didn’t matter. It changed the way I viewed life, death and other human beings”.
As well as the striking documentary, there will be an exclusive Q&A with Bruce Dickinson from London that will accompany the film in cinemas globally. Find our more at www.screamformesarajevo.com.

Alice in Chains have added another leg to their 2018 tour, booking a round of shows that will send them through the western and southwestern United States into late summer.
In addition to keeping busy on the road, the group’s current lineup is prepping its next album — its third with singer William DuVall, who’s served as frontman since Alice in Chains’ 2005 reunion following the 2002 death of original singer Layne Staley, and first since 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.
According to comments made last year by bassist Mike Inez, the band planned to return to its hometown of Seattle for recording; as he put it, “It’s time for Alice in Chains to go back to Seattle — drink that water, breathe that air. My Heart family’s up there. There’s just such a history — every street corner for us is a memory; crazy shit happened or some beautiful stuff.”
A title or release date for the new album has yet to be announced, but according to producer Nick Raskulinecz, recording wrapped in mid-January. Look over the complete list of currently announced tour dates below, and visit Alice in Chains’ website for additional details and ticketing information.

Joe Perry will play three dates in support of his new solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto, next month.
He’ll be joined by his Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford and Extreme’s Gary Cherone for a show he’s calling “Joe Perry and Friends.” They’ll begin at the House of Blues in Boston on April 18 and, over the next two nights, will play at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, Va., and the Music Box at Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J. Perry’s openers for the first two nights will be former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau and Joe Perry Project singer Charlie Farren.
As of now, these are the “only confirmed performances” on Perry’s calendar for his solo album, according to a press release. Tickets go on sale Friday, with full details available on his website.
Cherone sang lead on Aerosmith songs when Perry debuted the Sweetzerland Manifesto material at a Los Angeles show back in January, which also featured Stone Temple Pilots’ DeLeo brothers. That evening also included contributions from Slash, Robin Zander, Chris Robinson, David Johansen, Terry Reid and Johnny Depp, who is listed as the album’s executive producer.
Although Perry is out working his solo record, he’s less enthused about the idea of Aerosmith putting out something new — mostly because he feels it won’t be heard. “Everybody’s vibe is we’d like to have some new material,” he recently said. “But we’ve got so many songs that we haven’t played in so long, and other songs that we’ve never played, so there are a lot of things to come into consideration when you talk about a new record. Sometimes I think about, ‘What’s the point?’ We’ve got all these songs that we’ve already written that have been on these albums that we’d love to play that no one’s ever heard before.”
