UK punk /metal act HeadAche to release upcoming EP ‘BrainPain’

HeadAche

BrainPain is the upcoming EP from HeadAche, a four-piece band from Hertfordshire, England, who play music that has been described as ‘Punk Metal’. The EP is set for release on August 29th.

BrainPain has been produced by renowned punk rock producer Andy J. Davies, known for his work with bands such as S*M*A*S*H and Guns ‘N’ Wankers. Davies has honed the band’s sound, which fuses classic rock elements such as power chords played on heavily distorted downtuned guitars but with a shiny accessible studio polish, and vocal melodies that are more akin to pop music than hardcore punk or heavy metal.

The vocals alternate between the raspy grain of rhythm guitarist Johnny Bannister and the softer more dulcet tones of lead guitarist Michael Button. The guitar work is always rooted in the core of simplicity, with the driving force behind most of the songs being the churning basslines of Jay Majer and the intricate force of Leon Parson’s drumming.
