American death metal staple Goatwhore headlined this falls Metal Alliance tour together with punk rockers The Casualties, and such bands as Black Tusk, Great American Ghost, GOZU and Morthereon.

On November 28th the Metal Alliance tour made a stop in New York City to deliver thunderous performances at The Gramercy Theatre. On this date two headliners were supported by Black Tusk, Great American Ghost and GOZU who replaced Morthereon for the remainder of the tour since November 17th. All bands delivered their best performances to a raucous audience.

Local New York heroes, punk rockers The Casualties came on stage to great ovation from the home crowd, and did not disappoint. Typical punk mayhem ensued, jumping and running on and off the stage. Vocalist David Rodriguez was fully engaged with the crowd, not only asking them to do circle pits and wall of death, but actively participating himself after jumping off the stage.

They opened with Feed Off Fear from their recently released album Written in Blood, followed by Under Attack and War is Business. The band gave us all that punk music represents, resistance to the system, fight for freedom, anti-establishment and the usual craziness. Song Border was introduced with middle fingers high up to the sky for US president Trump, the band voiced strong opposition to his stances on the countries border policies. The set was rounded up with We Are All We Have.

Next up came blackened death metal band Goatwhore from the state of Louisiana. Just fresh off a European tour with Dying Fetus, the band went on a month long Metal Alliance tour to support their latest album Vengeful Ascension.

From the get go Goatwhore’s front man delivered a deafening growl with touring bassist Robert “Trans Am” Coleman full of energy throughout the performance, and with guitarist and backing vocalist Sammy Duet delivereing their own excellent performance. Zack Simmons was a highlight, an absolute beast on the drums!

The band played all the fan favorites including Apocalyptic Havoc, When Steel and Bone Meet and Baring Teeth for Revolt, and also the title track from last year’s Vengeful Ascension album along with Chaos Arcane. It was a fantastic performance which was as powerful as their music, and the NYC crowd showed their appreciation.
