Soldiers Of The Royal Council unite! Palaye Royale are heading back to Australia to dazzle audiences along the East Coast in September. The country had its first taste of rock’s most talked about trio at the inaugural Good Things Festival last year, where Hysteria Mag declared, “the band’s first time in Australia will surely be remembered”.
And right they were. Hailed as the band picking up where My Chemical Romance left off by NME Magazine, the Canadian fashion-rock trio were crowned “The Hottest Band of 2018” and simply “the” group of the year by the adoring English music press. Palaye Royale possess a flair for the dramatic with the kind of dirty glam rock swagger that summons The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and The Arctic Monkeys. They draw as much inspiration from cinema and philosophy as they do from their musical muses, building a story with libertine reverence for Alan Watts and debauchery-fuelled nights at the Chateau Marmont.
Comprising of the Brothers Kropp, the band are equally at home in the hallways of Los Angeles Fashion Week or climbing the lighting tresses at the Vans Warped Tour. Their recklessly unpredictable live performances saw Palaye Royale elevated from support act on any tour that would have them, to selling out theatres on their first-ever headline tour. Their showmanship has become so legendary they steal the spotlight at every major festival they play, and they are just as comfortable performing alongside Waterparks as they are The Foo Fighters.
With two albums, several magazine covers, awards and over 30 million YouTube views to their name, Palaye Royale inspire the cult-like devotion usually reserved for Twenty One Pilots. Amongst their most ardent supporters are James Iha (The Smashing Pumpkins / A Perfect Circle) who worked with the band as a producer, Corey Taylor (Slipknot / Stone Sour) and Andy Biserak (Black Veil Brides) who both took them on tour. Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn also made a guest appearance on their debut album Boom Boom Room (Side A).
Before Palaye Royale shimmy back to Australia, the band will put in show stopping appearances at Rocklahoma, Reading & Leeds and more. If their history and rabid fanbase are anything to go by, these tickets will fly out box offices.
