Shinedown have been hitting the road hard since the release of their latest album “Attention Attention” last year and their current North American run sees the band hit all corners of the States including New Jersey who witnessed another stadium sized rock show.
It was an electrifying night for Shinedown who have been touring almost non-stop in 2019. Tonight’s show featured support from Broken Hands, Dinosaur-Pile Up and Bad Flower but of course the main draw was Shinedown themselves who delivered once again.
The effects on stage during Shinedown’s performance was amazing, full production with blazing fire in the background the usual pyro and lighting scorching the stage. Among the newer songs was of course some older tracks like “Unity” and some throwbacks to even earlier material including the debut album “Leave A Whisper”. Vocalist Brent Smith took the fans on a bit of a nostalgic trip back in time as he coerced the crowd to bring their singing voices and singalong in what could be described as a celebration of the band.
The use of several stages to entertain the crowd seemed to keep the fans engaged and saw band members spread out through the crowd and more, a wonderful idea that really brings an intimacy of a club show to the bigger rooms.
The crowd engagement is really what sells Shinedown to a lot of fans and maybe some who aren’t big fans of the band can probably appreciate that. But ultimately the music is what matters and as Shinedown rocked out to the end of the show, we see why the success of the band has been much deserved over the years. There’s still lots more touring left for the band on this run so be sure to catch them where you can.
