Iron Maiden announced the Legacy Of The Beast North American tour earlier this year after the band’s Legacy of the Beast tour kicked off in Europe. The tour finds the veteran metal act looking back at a massive back catalogue that includes the iconic Number Of The Beast album and much more.

I have seen Iron Maiden many times over the last 40 years or so. Last night was probably the best show I have ever seen them do and I say that for several reasons. First, they keep improving their stage show every time I see them, they are starting to use more pyro as well. It’s a metal show, you have to have pyro.  The other reason is Bruce Dickenson is speaking more to the audience, telling stories and talking to the audience.

As for the set list it seems to be a fans dream. It’s a history of the band and they played all of their biggest songs except for one, “Wasted Years”. With that exception, it was a 2 hour fist pumping affair. Some of the highlights were “Run To The Hills”, “Flight Of Icarus”, “The Trooper”, “Number Of The Beast” and “Iron Maiden”.  If you plan to go and you are on the floor, get their early for a great spot. People seem to stay put and don’t move from where they are. Iron Maiden fans are among some of the most loyal fans a band can have. This is a great band and if you like metal, Iron Maiden should be on your list of bands to see.
