Nailed To Obscurity

It’s been a busy year for German melodic death/doom metallers NAILED TO OBSCURITY so far: On January 11, the group successfully released their Nuclear Blast debut »Black Frost«, which hit #37 in the German album charts, followed by a 5-week European tour supporting their label mates and genre greats AMORPHIS and SOILWORK alongside JINJER. After a few select headline shows, the quintet performed a raft of shows at renown European festivals such as Rockharz Open Air (D), Wacken Open Air (D), Brutal Assault (CZ), and Alcatraz Metal Festival (B), before rounding off the summer as part of the Nuclear Blast Label Night at Summer Breeze (D).

Most of NAILED TO OBSCURITY’s 2019 shows were accompanied by Jörg Harms (Black Vision Films), who not only captured the group’s experiences on the road, but also created a music video out of footage from this year’s European tour for the track ‘The Aberrant Host.’ Watch now.

Vocalist Raimund Ennenga comments, “Our shows in support of »Black Frost« have been nothing but awesome. The shared atmosphere between the band and audience at the shows was really special – no matter the place or festival nor the time of day. The live video for ‘The Aberrant Host’ provides a little insight of what people can expect from us. The song itself creates the image of the destructive or even corrosive behavior of a person that destroys the life of another one without realizing that this act affects its own existence, too.”

Agnostic Front

Legendary NYHC pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT are back to the scene with their twelfth studio album, »Get Loud!«, which will be released on November 8th via Nuclear Blast.

In celebration of the announcement, the band offer the lyric video for the first single,’Spray Painted Walls’ which can be seen here.

Roger Miret comments, “So excited for everyone to hear our new record »Get Loud!« I really love the songs and it feels like a great mixture of what we have done our whole career! We put 100% into this from top to bottom! Everyone involved from start to finished just killed it! See you in the pit to celebrate these songs soon!”

»Get Loud!« was produced by Roger Miret while long time friend Paul Miner handled the recording, mixing and mastering of the record at Buzzbomb Studio in Orange, CA. For the artwork, the band returned to 1986’s »Cause For Alarm«  artist Sean Taggart. It features the iconic CFA characters combined with a modern freshness.

»Get Loud!« is compiled of 14 tracks that are nothing short of classic, home grown, New York Hardcore, but still includes some thrashy and punky variety.

As I Lay Dying

In one week, San Diego quintet AS I LAY DYING will release their seventh full-length “Shaped By Fire” on September 20th via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band is proud to release the music video for the fourth single, ‘Blinded’.

Tim Lambesis comments, “We had an incredible experience working with Frankie Nasso, who chose to direct the video for ‘Blinded’ based largely on his personal passion for the band. Additionally, there was incredible energy from fans who showed up for the shoot which made it an unforgettable experience!”

The 69 Eyes

For the first time in 19 years, Friday the 13th coincides with a full moon – what a perfect day for the masters of gothic rock, THE 69 EYES, to unleash their 30-years-anniversary album »West End«. To celebrate this release, the Helsinki Vampires evoked another legendary evil spirit of  the metal scene, starring in the band’s new music video ‘Two Horns Up’ – the one and only Dani Filth from Cradle Of Filth.

So get ready for the most twisted goth’n’roll track of this autumn, watch here.

”We’ve been friends with Dani Filth for 25 years and THE 69 EYES did our best-ever and legendary North American tour with them over ten years ago. We were partying with him on my 50th birthday at Hollywood’s Rainbow Bar & Grill last October and came into conclusion that he should sing some guest vocals on our new album. It is mind-blowing to have the world’s most recognizable extreme metal vocalist on the opening track on our album.’Two Horns Up’ speaks about today and to everybody!” comments THE 69 EYES vocalist Jyrki.
