Italian gothic metal legends Lacuna Coil just kicked off their Disease Of The Anima North American tour co-headlined by All That Remains, and supported by Bad Omens, Toothgrinder and Uncured. In just a few weeks on October 11th they will release a new record called Black Anima, which means Black Soul, and so far the album seems like the darkest and heaviest band has had so far. As a fine example we can experience that by listening to the two singles the band has released so far – Layers Of Time and Reckless. Both songs pack quite a punch, and both videos offer dark tones and grim atmosphere. So fresh off this summer The 119 Show American tour, Lacuna Coil comes back on short notice, and we all are excited. First stop of the tour happened to be in New York City’s Webster Hall.

Lacuna Coil came on the stage right after energetic performances from Bad Omens. Opening song Blood, Tears, Dust came from their last studio album Delirium. It was also the most represented album on the bands setlist that included Downfall, My Demons and The House Of Shame.

The bands outfits for this tour match the ones seen in the music videos of their two singles from Black Anima. They are dressed in all black with coats covered in white symbols, while Diego Cavallotti on guitar, Marco Coti Zelati on bass and Richard Meiz on drums also wore their latest traditional face makeup.

The band sounded great, despite still feeling jet lag. Andrea Ferro vocals were heavy and powerful, especially in Layers Of Time, and Cristina Scabbia as always stole the show with her extraordinary talent, energy and charm, and wooed the New York crowd by professing love for NYC on multiple occasions.

The bands setlist for this tour consist of most of their best work to date, representing the upcoming album besides Layers Of Time they played Reckless, leaving us still in anticipation of what other material waits for us in their new release. Otherwise fans were able to enjoy hits like Our Truth, Spellbound and of course Heaven’s A Lie, which seemed to be a pinnacle of the show. They closed out their set with Nothing Stands In Our Way.

After Lacuna Coil’s set, the show was closed by American heavy metal band All That Remains.

Disease Of The Anima North American tour will continue until the middle of October 19th after which they will return back to Europe to start off a tour there with multiple shows in their home country of Italy.
