Birds and the Bees is the new single from South African blues-infused rock storytellers The Amblers, the track is taken from their upcoming 3rd EP set for release early 2020. As always drummer Jason Hinch provides a powerful framework for Justin Swart to deliver his ideas of music and lyrics to a listener.
“We are excited to release Birds and the Bees. In an era where offence comes too easily. Where controversy, click bait and fake news are the order of the day. Who can you trust? Tough conversations build real relationships. Birds and the Bees is one of those tough conversations”, comments Justin on the inspiration behind the track.
Having previously released two critically acclaimed EP’s, 2017’s The Dusting Man, which South Africa’s Texx and the City called “A blues rock EP that deserves your full attention”. Canada’s PureGrainAudio described it as “Carrying a sound that leans towards the heavier side of things, fans of gritty, distorted bluesy rock a la Jack White or The Raconteurs are def. going to lap up these Johannesburg natives’ tunes.”
2018’s Ratty Old Mo saw the band releasing the video for the title track as well as having no less than 3 singles charting on South African radio. We’re excited to see what 2020 has in store for The Amblers.
Birds and the Bees is available now on all digital platforms.
