Opeth

OPETH release Englisch Version of new animated short film for “Ingen Sanning Är Allas (Universal Truth)”, BLOOD EAGLE release official visualizer for ‘Worship The Wolf’, BEAST IN BLACK unleash ‘Cry Out For A Hero’ live music video, AGNOSTIC FRONT release music video for ‘Conquer And Divide’.

Swedish prog-metal/rock legends OPETH are readying their awaited return to North America in 2020 for a winter tour with labelmates GRAVEYARD. In the meantime, the band has released a dark and eerie new animated video short for the Swedish language track ‘Ingen Sanning Är Allas,’ from their recently released album, “In Cauda Venenum,” that’s available now via Moderbolaget / Nuclear Blast. Today, as promised, they reveal the English version of the track, ‘Universal Truth’.

The offbeat and beautifully crafted video short was created by renowned South African born animator/artist Jess Cope (“Frankenweenie,” “Metallica: Here Comes Revenge”) and follows a melancholic and bitter man on the brink of self-destruction and insanity as he delves into a sinister alternate world as reality crumbles around him. Cope previously collaborated with OPETH’s Mikael Åkerfeldt on the music video for “Drag Ropes” for his side project STORM CORROSION, with Steven Wilson. Working mainly with traditional animation methods, her shorts have an enticingly tactile look and feel to them and are brought to life with an unprecedented level of skill and attention to detail. Her emotive storytelling draws in audiences in a way that has seen her win multiple awards for her films in recent years.

The band comments, “We are honored to have signed with one of the world’s leading record labels, Nuclear Blast Records! The excitement level of BLOOD EAGLE finally finding the right home to release new material, is higher for us than we can ever express. There are people who want to hear this band, as was evident in the reaction to our performances on multiple European festivals in the last couple of years. We are excited and grateful to be working with the guys at Nuclear Blast, as they strongly will help facilitate and take the EAGLE to the next level.

On a musical note, we took all our inspirations from NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, MORBID ANGEL and a tad (like 2%) of MASTODON and threw them into the musical cooking pot. The result is our new release, »To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed« which will be released as three EP’s in September, October and November. Out on Nuclear Blast Records.”

Roger Miret comments, “That’s it, nothing new. The rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, but we’ve lost sight of how we are pawned against each other for political gains as we fight to simply exist.”
