Rock fans looking for some new good old fashioned rock n’ roll look no further than Melbourne hard rock act Rockin Volts. The four piece act released their debut self-titled EP in September last year featuring a rip-roaring cover of AC/DC‘s “Let There Be Rock” and have now released their first ever lyric video for the title track “Rockin Volts“.
The debut EP was recorded over two days in May 2019 with Chris Catz at GM Studios in Campbellfield. It received it’s release launch in September at Last Chance Rock N Roll Bar in Melbourne with Livewire cover band & One More Weekend.
The band comments on the title track: “The song “Rockin Volts” from our debut EP that was released back in early September is about paying respect and what influenced us and this is a salute to them that gave us a chance to play rock n roll and be in Rockin Volts.”
With so many bands trying to reinvent the musical wheel, the value of history and the true essence of music are quickly becoming swallowed by a generation that thinks more is better. Not so Melbourne’s Rockin’ Volts who wear their inspiration and heritage proudly on their hard-rockin’ shoulders.
Taking influence in name and style from Australia’s greatest ever rock outfit AC/DC, Rockin’ Volts pay homage to old school rock music the only way they know how – by rockin’ hard with guitars blazing, attitude dripping, sweat-stained heads banging and testosterone pumping high energy rock n roll that puts the heart and soul back into Australian rock.
With an initial aim to reinvigorate the Melbourne hard rock scene, Rockin’ Volts have already declared that is just the first stop on global domination. After recent personnel changes that have only enhanced their musical psyche, Rockin’ Volts start that journey with their self titled debut EP which is out now. Lathered in sweat and dripping with vicious slabs of rock, ‘Rockin’ Volts’ is an EP harking back to the glory days of Australian rock where men were unafraid to bare their teeth and women were unafraid to put them back in their place.
