Ben Koller said of the song: “’From a Crowded Wound’ is the creeping punisher on this record, a lumbering steamroller laying a trail of sleek acid slime from beginning to end.”
Costin Chioreanu, who has previously worked on videos for Ghost, Napalm Death and Corrosion of Conformity, created the visually stunning clip.
Finnish folk metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI are proud to unveil “Mylly” as the second single from their upcoming album “Jylhä” (out February 5th, 2021, on NUCLEAR BLAST). The song is accompanied by a stunning & darkly atmospheric music video, which manages to capture the song’s rather melancholic tone quite perfectly. As of today, “Jylhä” can officially be pre-ordered in various physical formats.
KORPIKLAANI’s new single “Mylly” (engl. “Mill”) was influenced by the story of a working man’s journey to a mill, causing him to cross paths with what seems to be the devil: “Finnish folklore tells the story of a man’s journey to the mill. Along the way, he sees a figure sitting on a fence, a “devil” with a hoof as one foot. The man is frightened at what he sees and freezes in place. The character disappears and the man remembers hearing the story of the devil living in the mill. Eventually, the man continues his journey and overcomes his fears. At the mill, he feels he is finally equal to the past and the present. Fences rot, fall, but the spirit and stories remain, over generations and over ages. The video tells us about our character’s journey to the mill with the last of his grains. “Devil” is the deceiver, who is tempting the man to give up his grains by appealing to his weaknesses.”
In 2019 the Swedish power metal heroes MAJESTICA released their debut album “Above The Sky” and it became a huge success within the metal community. Now in 2020 they are back with not only a new album, but a special treat for their fans: a Christmas musical power metal album entitled “A Christmas Carol”. It’s pure symphonic power metal in the true MAJESTICA spirit along with elements inspired by the likes of TWILIGHT FORCE, RHAPSODY, ALAN SILVESTRI, DANNY ELFMAN and JOHN WILLIAMS. Today, the band release a music video for their second single ‘Ghost Of Marley’.
Bassist Chris David comments: “This is the very first song that MAJESTICA have released that is a duet with two lead voices, and it’s also our first music video with theatrical play. ‘Ghost of Marley’ is a conversation between the main character of “A Christmas Carol” Ebenezer Scrooge, who gets visited by the ghost of his old co-worker Jacob Marley. The video features myself as Marley and Tommy as Scrooge.
Personally for me this has been one of the most challenging songs I have recorded to this date, both musically and visually but it was a lot of fun!”
